We put the Banking into Business Intelligence
Business Intelligence is an interesting science focused on empowering business leaders to run high performance organizations.
Unfortunately, business intelligence seems to have become more about technology than about business. Talks of BI end up being more about ETL and data integration and star and snowflake schema. Perceptions about BI projects are hinged around technically challenging, long deployment times; projects typically fail, difficult to quantify RoI amongst others.
This is the reason why we decided to put the Banking into Business Intelligence.
We turned the status quo upside down and decided to look at how BI and Analytics can actually be applied to the Banking business – in different functions, across different roles. We identified multiple solutions, be it for banking functions like Retail Banking, Corporate banking, Credit Cards or Asset Management. We looked at cross-functional solutions like advanced analytics around entities such as Branch, Customer, Channels and Profitability solutions as well. We also looked at data intensive processes like Central bank reporting or Consolidated statements and Advices where automated solutions can drive productivity up significantly.
Once the banking business solutions were identified, we then built all the technology components that need to power such a solution in a bank, starting with the right data models for these banking solutions, powered by an enterprise data-warehouse for banking and with pre-built data integration to typical banking transactional systems. Keeping this in perspective needs data quality and master data management. This is powered by an award winning best-in-class technology, albeit demystified and kept under the hood, so that what the users would see and interact with is an intuitive banking business solution.
Business Intelligence is intelligence to power your business, after all!
